Dopis do DOS-WK: Návštěva v Enschede a český finálový den

Nový dopis šéfovi DOS-WK Marcelu Wintersovi shrnuje moji návštěvu v Enschede, poohlíží se po tom, kam dál, a nezapomíná ani připomenout finálový den českého korfbalu, který bude 17. května v Prostějově. Myslím, že tohle klubové partnerství bude stát za to!

Dear Marcel,

Last week I was in the Netherlands and we were finally able to meet each other in person. I really enjoyed my visit in Enschede, all the great time I had there, and of course, wonderful people of DOS-WK I met. I would like to thank you for organizing the whole visit of mine and being a kind host.

During the visit I was able to see a training, then a few of DOS-WK members, and Oude Markt in night. Next day you showed me your club's outside accommodation and pitches; I wish my club had something like this. In the end of my visit, you took me back to Apeldoorn and we saw a bit of games of Monuta Youth World Cup. Marcel, thanks again, I left Enschede full of new positive energy!

One of the people, who I met in Enschede, was Jannie. She is one of DOS-WK members who have been to Prostejov in 1992 and asked me to present her regards to Jiri Kremla, our honorary chairman. I did so and Jiri was very pleased. He sends his regards back, please tell Jannie.

Jiri also kindly asks if it's possible to let him know whereabouts of Hennie Baas or even a contact. Jiri wants to know how's Hennie's life and to remember old times together. Hennie and Jiri were behind the original partnership of our clubs, as Jiri told me.

During my visit we also talked about what to do next in the friendship of our clubs. I'm really thankful that you expressed an interest to improve our korfbal. Maybe you will come to Prostejov to teach us something new or maybe my team will go to Enschede for some training and/or tournament to see how top korfbal looks like. So it's probable we, members of DOS-WK Enschede and of SK RG Prostejov, will meet each other more often. I really hope it will strengthen our clubs' relationship and bring new experience to all of us.

And what is new on our side? After a promising start in extraleague, a crisis came upon us but the last match has shown some improvement and hopefully we will do even better in next rounds. As I already wrote you sometime around the start of a season, both our junior and pupils teams are new in this season. And as such they are having hard time in matches and unfortunately both without a win. But the experience is priceless and all our young players will benefit from it in future.

In other news, my club, SK RG Prostejov, won a tender for organizing this season's Czech korfbal finals day. Finals day consists of four games: senior extraleague's matches for 3rd and 1st place and same junior extraleague's games.

This finals day will happen in Prostejov on 17th May 2008. Unfortunately, it's very probable that no Prostejov's team will take part in the games of the finals day. I would like to invite DOS-WK members to come over to Prostejov and see Czech korfbal. We will be more than happy to welcome you in our town!

So what do you think about coming to Prostejov for Czech finals?

I would also like to ask something more about club life in DOS-WK. What are other team (or club) activities besides trainings and matches? Sure, it is different for seniors, juniors, and kids but I'm just curious. It is a great inspiration for us.

So, good luck to all your teams and I hope that DOS-WK 1 will do its best, win as much matches as possible, and remain in hoofdklasse for the next indoor season as well.
