Dopis do DOS-WK: O úspešném finálovém dni, létě a soustředění

Tentokrát se chlubíme úspěchy finálového dne, odkrýváme plány na léto a těšíme se na návštěvu DOS-WK za účelem trénování a poznání našich holandských přátel. Nakonec se ptám na to, jak to jde týmům z Enschede v soutěžích, a po vzoru Marcela zkouším také něco z jeho rodného jazyka ;-)

Hello Marcel,

if you weren't occupied by work (which I fully understand) on May 17th 2008, you could have seen the best organized czech korfball finals ever. It's not only opinion of members of our club but of all finals day participants and visitors I spoke to. Even Frans Walvis, vicepresident of IKF, has enjoyed the matches and organization and according to his words he really liked it.

As a club chairman and finals chief organizer, I am really proud of what we have done and the way we did it, 8 people worked on it the last two months and 23 people on Friday and Saturday - it is a really big team for a club of our size. It shows the power of our club - if we work towards common goal, we can do great things for the good of our club or korfball in the Czech Republic.

So far, consequences and effects of the finals has been tremendous. We've got media coverage in every local newspapers, in one regional radio, and Czech television made 20 minutes programme, later broadcasted on Czech television's sports channel CT4. You can see it online:

... it starts some 3 minutes after the beginning. Before korfball there is coverage of europe's football and I saw FC Twente made it to Champions League. Congratulations to sport in Enschede!

Another consequence is a proof for the townhall of Prostejov that we are able to represent our city in a great way. It makes us respectable partner. In summary, czech finals were an event we will talk about for a long time. I hope it given us the positive energy you talked about in your letter.

In your e-mail you asked me when our korfball season starts again because you want to visit us and see some czech korfball. In the Czech Republic we have only one regular season, the indoor one, and it starts probably in the middle of September - the exact calendar isn't known yet. During June it's outdoor tournaments season here, for example our U15 team will attend Czech U15 Cup on 13th to 15th June. We will have some trainings during the summer as well and children will have their korfball sports camp in the end of July.

Of course, you are more than welcome to come to Prostejov, we will be really happy to see you over here. This applies also to all members of DOS-WK, if they want to visit us, tell them to drop us an e-mail at korfbal (at) prostejov.cz.

We're really thankful for your invitation for a training visit. We would like to come for a week - to be worth the one thousand kilometers distance between Prostejov and Enschede - and so far it looks the best is the second week of August (approximately between 9th and 17th of August). Is it OK for you? We are really looking forward to meeting our new friends at DOS-WK! And we hope to improve our korfball as well!

How does look the outdoor season for your teams? I will try some Dutch as well (with help of Google Translate ;-): Wij hopen, van het DOS-WK mijn succes.
